From it's user-friendly graphical interface, hundreds of books and publications detailing how to master Access, to worldwide and local training classes, it's hard to beat the power and flexibility that Microsoft Access brings to your valuable sales data.
eXpand Download Instructions:
All of the eXpand applications are self-extracting exe files. THEY ARE LARGE FILES. These applications must carry all the baggage necessary to set themselves up on a variety of operating systems. These applications only work with Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, and W2K.
  • Choose the appropriate application from the eXpand catalog by clicking the program link.
  • Download the application to your hard drive.
  • When complete, close the web page and double click on the downloaded file.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.
Important Installation Information:
Prop Solutions, the creator of these applications, is a Microsoft developer. We only distribute the latest Windows components received directly from Microsoft. In some cases, your Windows system files may be out of date and our program will need to replace them with the latest versions.  You will be notified of this and given the opportunity to update your system at installation time, or cancel the update. It is also possible for you to have newer versions of certain files than those contained in the application.  Again, you will be asked to replace or skip any existing files that are newer than those contained in the application.
Never replace a newer file!

You only need to download the FULL SETUP Sales Data Mine if you have not previously installed Sales Data Mine on this computer. If you have a previous version of Sales Data Mine, then choose the Sales Data Mine Update Download below.

You can only download the updated Sales Data Mine if you have already installed a prior FULL Sales Data Mine. Choose the FULL option above if you have not already installed the FULL Setup on this machine.
Updated Sales Data Mine Download Instructions:
  • Choose the download link below.
  • Choose the save to disk option. (If this option is not shown, right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As".
  • Browse your computer and find the existing EC_DS.EXE file. (It should be in the "c:\Program Files\eXpand Sales Data Mine" folder unless you picked a different location when you installed the original Sales Data Mine.)
  • Be sure to replace the existing file.
  • When the download completes, the updated program will be installed.

Sales Data Mine 1.2 Updates:
The Sales Data Mine was updated to detect a missing jour-s table after a month end. There was also a correction to the scheduler. Previously, if you cancelled the scheduler, Sales Data Mine tried to start without the databases open and would error out. This prevented you from changing the start in scheduler mode option. Once scheduler start mode was selected, you were stuck with it. Now if you start in scheduler mode, and then cancel, Sales Data Mine re-opens the databases and allows you to perform a manual update or change the start mode to manual.

Using eXpand Sales Data Mine:
When you first run eXpand Sales Data Mine, the following evaluation notification screen appears: (Click image for larger view)

Click Next to continue in evaluation mode or contact Jack Duncan at 800-722-3615 Extension 1 to register your copy of eXpand Sales Data Mine.

Select an option from the list and then click Next.
If you selected the import existing journal files option from the main screen, the following screen will appear: (Click image for larger view)

Your sales history volume will be shown as the default location to search for journal files. If you have additional journal files in another location, click the Browse button to select another location. Click Next to begin scanning for journal files at the specified location.

Click the journal file you want to import. Hold down your control key to select more than one journal. Note the records and imported count columns. The date column shows the date the file was imported. Click the Next button to continue.

Select start the import now option to begin importing the selected journal files now. If you choose the schedule option, then the additional start day, hour, and minute selections will be shown. Important. You must make sure your Backend System remains on for the duration of the import and does NOT AUTO RE-BOOT. Choose the schedule option to import your old journals when your Backend System will be on and idle.
Checking Current Sales File:
After importing your old journal files, choose the check for current journal file changes using the timer. The following screen will appear where you can set up the timer to scan for changes in the current journal file: (Click image for larger view)

Choose the start in timer mode if you want eXpand Sales Data Mine to automatically start in timer mode. This is useful if you want to add eXpand Sales Data Mine to your start menu. Select the hour and minute you want to scan for changes in the current journal file (jour-s). Remember that these times are 24 hour format. Click the Next button to continue.

This screen will be minimized and shown in your Windows task bar while eXpand Sales Data Mine waits for the specified time to occur.
