Database Drivers for OPSoftware Products
Most products from OPSoftware require the latest Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). These components and how they are installed depends on the operating system you are using. Select the section appropriate for your operating system for instructions on installing these drivers.
Windows 2000
Follow these instructions only if you are having problems accessing your database files on Windows 2000.
  1. Create a temporary folder on your hard drive.
  2. Download MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE from the Database Drivers - MDAC Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  3. Make sure to save this file into the temporary folder you created on your hard drive.
  4. Download Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe from the Database Drivers - Access Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  5. Again, make sure you save this file into the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  6. Download VFPODBC.msi from the Database Drivers - FoxPro Folder on the FTP Site to the same temporary folder on your hard drive.
  7. Close the FTP site and any other programs that may be running.
  8. Navigate to the temporary folder you created in step 1 and then double-click the MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE item.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing the drivers.
  10. Re-boot your computer and return to the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  11. Double-click the Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe item to install the Access drivers.
  12. Re-boot your computer again.
  13. Return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
Windows XP
Follow these instructions only if you are having problems accessing your database files on Windows XP.
  1. Create a temporary folder on your hard drive.
  2. Download MDAC_TYP-27.EXE from the Database Drivers - MDAC Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  3. Make sure to save this file into the temporary folder you created on your hard drive.
  4. Download Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe from the Database Drivers - Access Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  5. Again, make sure you save this file into the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  6. Download VFPODBC.msi from the Database Drivers - FoxPro Folder on the FTP Site to the same temporary folder on your hard drive.
  7. Close the FTP site and any other programs that may be running.
  8. Navigate to the temporary folder you created in step 1 and then double-click the MDAC_TYP-27.EXE item.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing the drivers.
  10. Re-boot your computer and return to the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  11. Double-click the Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe item to install the Access drivers.
  12. Re-boot your computer again.
  13. Return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
FTP Download of Database Drivers:
Click the heading link to access the OPSoftware FTP site where you can download the database drivers for your operating system.
Problems Accessing the FTP Site?
Open Internet Explorer. Type ftp://opsoftware.com in the Address bar. When asked for a User Name and Password, enter OPSoftware as the user name and leave the password blank.
Try clicking "Refresh" in Internet Explorer if you get a "Page Cannot be Displayed" message.

Windows 95 and 98
Follow these instructions only if you are having problems accessing your database files on Windows 95 or 98.
  1. Create a temporary folder on your hard drive.
  2. Download MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE from the Database Drivers - MDAC Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  3. Make sure to save this file into the temporary folder you created on your hard drive.
  4. Download Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe from the Database Drivers - Access Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  5. Again, make sure you save this file into the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  6. Download VFPODBC.msi from the Database Drivers - FoxPro Folder on the FTP Site to the same temporary folder on your hard drive.
  7. Close the FTP site and any other programs that may be running.
  8. Navigate to the temporary folder you created in step 1 and then double-click the MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE item.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing the drivers.
  10. Re-boot your computer and return to the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  11. Double-click the Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe item to install the Access drivers.
  12. Re-boot your computer again.
  13. Return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
No Install Option From Pop-up Menu:
If you do not get the Install Option from the pop-up menu when you right-click on the FoxPro driver, then you need to download and install the Windows Installer for Windows 95 and 98. Click the link below to access the Microsoft Website where you can download and install this program.
Click here to download the Windows Installer for Windows 95 and 98.
After installing this program, return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
Windows NT
Follow these instructions only if you are having problems accessing your database files on Windows NT.
  1. Create a temporary folder on your hard drive.
  2. Download MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE from the Database Drivers - MDAC Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  3. Make sure to save this file into the temporary folder you created on your hard drive.
  4. Download Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe from the Database Drivers - Access Folder on the OPSoftware FTP Site.
  5. Again, make sure you save this file into the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  6. Download VFPODBC.msi from the Database Drivers - FoxPro Folder on the FTP Site to the same temporary folder on your hard drive.
  7. Close the FTP site and any other programs that may be running.
  8. Navigate to the temporary folder you created in step 1 and then double-click the MDAC_TYP-26-SP2.EXE item.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions for installing the drivers.
  10. Re-boot your computer and return to the temporary folder on your hard drive.
  11. Double-click the Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe item to install the Access drivers.
  12. Re-boot your computer again.
  13. Return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
No Install Option From Pop-up Menu:
If you do not get the Install Option from the pop-up menu when you right-click on the FoxPro driver, then you need to download and install the Windows Installer for Windows NT. Click the link below to access the Microsoft Website where you can download and install this program.
Click here to download the Windows Installer for Windows NT.
After installing this program, return to the temporary folder and right-click on the VFPODBC.msi item. Choose Install from the pop-up menu.
