How long has it been since you heard someone talk about office products software like this?
I would add that using DB2 is really a lot of fun. Once you learn what’s in each of the awesome pre-built and automatically updated access tables and then learn the neat stuff you can do with inquiries (even doing inquiries of inquires) you begin to realize what a great investment this is. In DDMS using report writer many reports can be created but using DB2 creating, modifying and using the reports is a breeze and even fun. For example you can do a summary inquiry and then with a few keystrokes see all the detail or only selected detail. Exporting to Excel is easy, clean (no headers to delete) and one step.
We are a small relatively new company.  We have to watch every single penny we spend and yet we have found this investment to be one of the smartest (along with eOrder) we’ve made so far. DB2 allows us to quickly extract important information from DDMS to run our business more effectively and profitably. What the OPSoftware team have put together is a truly awesome tool that I believe all DDMS dealers would benefit by using. Imagine having all the DDMS customer files combined into one file- the C-Master, C-Shipto, C-Info, C-Disc, C-Manifest and more. No need to figure out how to link them together, they are already in one file.  You get to add whatever fields you need to an inquiry, limit in a multitude of ways, group by any number of fields, (perhaps, salesperson, route, zip code, etc.)
The possibilities are endless and making changes (for example add or delete fields) is a keystroke away. There’s no need to print a report only to find out it still doesn’t have the information you need or it doesn’t fit the paper so it wraps the page or worse and waste all that time and paper. Use page preview in Access or export to Excel and make whatever adjustments are necessary.
Did I just parrot back Rick’s sale pitch? If so it’s because it’s not just a sale’s pitch, it’s the truth. I like it a lot.
